It should be recorded with the Chancery Clerk in the county in which the project is located. I It must be recorded no later than ninety (90) days after the last day of providing equipment, labor, materials or services for the improvement of a project. A recorded copy of the Claim should then be promptly mailed by certified mail or personally delivered to the improved property’s Owner, Agent or Trustee along with other legal parties for the project (Lender/Surety).

A lawsuit (Payment Action) must be filed within 180 days from the date of the recording of the lien.
